Autel im608 2013 Mazda CX-5 key add has the key light fault?

 Problem: Used Autel im608 Pro to add key on a 2013 Mazda CX-5, it failed and now has the key light fault will not clear.

How to fix Autel im608 Pro “Incorrect Component Installed”?

Both keys (previous and new) need to be the same type. If one is 3-button and the other 2-button. You mentioned you used a genuine key, could be possible that the other key is aftermarket? 2 identical genuine keys will work ok. 2 identical aftermarket keys will also work ok. But don’t mix-match them.

 

Ske13e is 433mhz you would use for NZ new models. Ske13d is 315mhz and the correct one for Jap import. yes you can reuse a previously programmed one.

if you delete all keys then do all keys lost with 2 matching. Both remotes are 2 button type.

 

Update:

Just fixed it the was both 2 button but part numbers on the key was different … the car I was doing was a import and I used NZ frequency key luckily had a old fob to do again.

Autel IM608 Pro and Xtool X100 PAD3 Comparison

 Today we have Xtool X100 PAD3 SE with KC501 programmer, and then of course we have the AUTEL IM608 PRO with XP400 Pro, we have all hooked up, I want to explain to you guys at differences, similarities.

Similarities:

They are both for programmers, for diagnostics, there’s many options for both machines.

 

  1. They both have smart key emulators for Toyota Lexus,

so this is only when you’re doing all keys lost for Toyota and Lexus, they both have their emulators for smart keys. Okay, you can easily add a key.

  1. And we have diagnosis on both, we have immo programming, write key via dump, we have a lot of cool stuff.

 

Differences:

  1. Autel IM608 Pro is more advanced than Xtool X100 PAD3 SE

Next, let’s get into Xtool X100 PAD3 SE, gives you really easy really basic, really easy to program a key, really easy to run diagnostic.

Okay, it’s really simple, very simple.

 

Autel IM608 Pro is a little bit more advance, we have more options.

You have more advanced options than the Xtool.

 

  1. Autel IM608 Pro is more pricy

On the price aspect, the Xtool X100 PAD3  is 4 times cheaper than Autel IM608 Pro

 

  1. Xtool X100 PAD3 SE is more convenient

Of course the Xtool is more convenient for your pocket.

Xtool is a little more basic and Autel has a little bit more vehicle coverage.

Alright IM608 Pro comes with more adaptors including the JBOX of course.

That’s why IM608 Pro is more pricey, but X100 PAD3 SE has the capability of doing EEPROM, data and initialization, you can read chip EEPROM, write chip EEPROM.

So let’s go and look at the Autel IM608 Pro, it is more suitable for advanced users, it gives you more options as a bigger vehicle coverage, more expensive subscription, of course a year at least a thousand dollars.

So I love Autel IM608 Pro.

To sum up: Autel IM608Pro for advanced users, Xtool X100 PAD3 SE for start users.

Okay I wouldn’t trade it for anything, I would recommend this for more advanced users, if you are probably starting up and you want to get into advanced programming I do recommend the Xtool X100 PAD3 SE, it’s a really good machine to start off with it’s convenient for your pocket, it does a lot of good stuff.

 

But if you’re gonna just go big go big or go home I would recommend the Autel IM608 Pro, it has more vehicle coverage as the J2534 box comes from more adapters for EEPROM, MCU programming, refreshing, you have a wide variety, J2534 box is a big advantage in Autel, IM608 Pro has over the Xtool which doesn’t have J2534 box there. So J2534 box is overall the biggest advantage like I said the Autel IM608 Pro has. Xtool does have a J2534 box – X-VCI Max, but it is for higher lever tablet- A80 Pro/H6 Pro, it won’t work with pad3.

The XP400 programmer is amazing, Xtool KC501 try to follow up their design as well, they did a good job, it is doing great with X100 PAD3 SE.

Now with the J2534 box diagnostic tool, let’s go more into the modules, let’s run a full diagnostics scan. So as you can see we have more advanced systems with Autel IM608 Pro.

 

Alright, so for example we have “Learn engine ECU”, we have an immobilizer box reset which Xtool does it as well except for the smart keys, okay for the smart keys like I said, we both need the emulators.

The Xtool like I said it sets it up to where we can program keys really easy, we can diagnostic really easy, all depending if it also has the diagnostic tool, then you can have more options with diagnosis like going into the modules, like airbags, seats and everything else, etc, like the Autel IM608 Pro you know you can also go into the modules and everything okay, so that’s why I like the Autel IM608 because it gives you more options, it’s more advanced programming, more advanced options whereas the Xtool X100 PAD3 is really easy for us really basic to learn.

OK, maybe if you’re starting, this a really good starting programmer for you, for programming vehicles, we can also do diagnosis and we can also do EEPROM, every EEPROM adapter gives a lot of good options.

 

Okay, we could do data analysis like I did on the Lexus, we can do mileage adjustment on the Xtool and Autel, so basically I really think that the Autel IM608 Pro is more advanced than the Xtool X100 PAD3, but the X100 PAD3 is a little bit more cheaper, more convenient pocket, if you guys don’t have a lot of money to spend or to invest IM608 Pro,  X100 PAD3 would be a pretty good machine, okay if you want to get into advanced programming with EEPROM, refreshing, soldering and other good stuff, X100 PAD3 would be a good machine to start off with, if you want to go big and I go home I would go with Autel IM608 Pro.

Autel IM608 cannot Read BMW FEM ISN Code Solution

 Question: 

Autel im608 has programmed a new key on a 2017 BMW 330i fem system (engine code is F48) successfully.  On bench with a FEM test platform.
However I tried the ISN code management in order to pull the ISN code has no luck. IM608 just showing communication failed ( just curious if in AKL position)

Customer working solution:
 increased voltage to dme to 13.2 v and it read it.
12v charge cable in van, start van and let alternator bring voltage up.
You can have three of these wired into the back of my van (one with voltmeter, two without) wired up to two leisure batteries, they read leisure battery voltage, but when I need to pull isn from dme, sometimes it fails, i then start the van, let the alternator (via split charge relay) get the voltage up and then read dme again.

BMW CAS3+ ISTAP Online Repair with Autel IM608

 Here comes the common problem with BMW CAS3 key programming via OBD:

BMW X1 2011 CAS3++ istap now cannot turn on with the working key. I downgraded CAS3, did put battery support on (GYS Flash) but Wifi cut out during update. And it failed now no ignition.

Here are the working solutions for those who failed BMW cas3++ via OBD with autel im508/im608.

 

 

2 Solutions:

1. Try Repair online first

2. if not success then try ECUs repair by dump

 

 

Solution 1: online repair

There is a repair option with vvdi2 via obd, worth a try first.

If not then autel has a repair option also.

With the im608/im508, you have the repair files, remove CAS, backup what’s left, upload to autel (via 608), receive files back (it’s instant), reinstall repair files.

Check the step-by-step guide in im608 below.

(*If all keys lost situation. It may have also lost ISN so repair will not let car start but ignition will come back. Then you need to read ECU isn and do CAS renew on autel to fix.)

 

 

Solution 2: Repair by dump

Need to remove CAS from car and read it with a programmer. NO need to replace CAS.

If you have hextag read the eeprom, put it into hexprog and it can change file to a running file write back to the eeprom, all up and running. Check: Repair BMW CAS3+ Data Corruption with Hextag

If don’t have a hextag, read with other programmer. Read with prog uploaded files to autel for CAS repair , repaired files written back with extra key added works fine.

Autel gives good fix on bench as well.

 

 

 

How to Repair BMW CAS3 and Add a Key with autel maxiim im608?

Model example:  BMW X1 CAS3++ istap 2011 with Mask 0L15Y

Step 1: Read EEPROM & FLASH

Uninstall CAS box and welding cable apa109

Connect xp400 pro and apa109 cable via USB port. The im608 has built in colored schematics with great quality pictures. Soldering is the hardest part.

Load the EEPROM file of the current vehicle (select CAS3+_0L15Y_OM23S_EEPROM-07052021.bin read in step 1)

The file is being modified. Save new file.

Load FLASH file (select CAS3+_0L15Y_OM23S_FLASH-07052021.bin read in step 1)

Verify VIN, mileage and frequency information

Press Add key

Reading key information

Read key info successfully, proceed with the next step

Select semi smart key

Put new key into the programmer

Writing key

Save new eeprom file

Flash the new car eeprom file into car, then use the new dealer key to start the engine.

If CAS belong to is istap version, don’t write new file back to CAS.

Go back to ECU Operation- 0L15Y -Write eeprom

Keep in mind, it’s always a risk doing istap through obd bench is much easier and safer it was a pain to recover the files.
