Put Windows down
Get out and lock car

Turn ignition on

Autel IM508 Adds 2020 Jeep Gladiator Proximity via OBD

I had the 12+8 cable in hand. Poked my head under the dash, found the secure gateway module and nothing was plugged into it. So back to the obd2 and went through just fine. There is a trick during the key learning process though that autel does not mention.

I did this vehicle today. Read Pin no problem and learned key. All functions work (remote, proximity & vehicle start).

The new key is learned by putting it up to the start button, pressing and holding it there while clicking the unlock button on the FOB.

When the programmer tells you to put the new key up to the start button and press in and hold, it counts down from 30 seconds and fails to learn. The trick is to continually press the unlock button on the FOB while you hold the key pressed against the start/stop button. Door locks will click indicating learning is complete.

Like I said, I had the 12+8 with me in hand ready to plug it in. But on this truck, it was not needed.

Autel IM508 Adds Benz W230 SL55 Key Success

 Autel IM508 program a spare key to Mercedes Benz SL 55 AMG R230 / W230 via OBD successfully.

It took a long time in order to get the password, but in the end, succeed.

I used the Get password function.

It took little bit longer than 30min and I had to switch the key between the EIS and the key reader many many times.

Car started straight away. Two keys are programmed.

Autel IM608 Cannot Do 2020 Corvette All Keys Lost?

 Question:

2020 Chevrolet Corvette All keys lost. Autel IM608 won’t communicate with ECU.
Any similar experience here?

Solution:

For IM608, you need CAN FD adapter and can only do it during tech hours of Autel. You call them and read the code and they give you the codes to program the keys.

If you want to do the new GM’s you need to really consider getting the obdstar x300 dp plus and CAN FD adapter. it fills more gaps when paired with the im508 then the key tool plus did with the im508.

it’s good on Asian cars too. I had 2 nissan fails in the last month, 1 was a Sentra, forgot the other one, obdstar did it Fine. Autel did program the chip part, but not remote.

How to Send Autel KM100 Log Data?

 If failed to generate/copy the transponder chip or remote with Autel MaxiIM KM100, you can send log data to Autel technical support.

Follow guide here to send log data.

Go to Generate Transponder function, press icon on the upper left corner

Select type of exception to help the engineer locate the problem, then press OK

Submit the problem in detail and provide KM100 serial number.

Autel engineer will analyze your problem and leave feedback.

2020 Mitsubishi Outlander All Keys Lost with Autel IM608

 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander. All keys lost to delete all proxy keys.

Solution 1:

Add OEM key back in then add a new OEM key via “Hot Function”

You will need your Autel IM608 XP400 programmer.

2-3 min job via OBDII once setup.

Will program key initially via the xp400 then you’ll remove key blade from proxy key, put in little holder at front of shift console between seats more near passenger side. This will complete process. Just follow prompts on tool.

Both remotes will show “Fully Locked” after programming. Once you see they’re locked they should work.

You can also scan key using the programmer (xp400) as well if you didn’t bring your key scan tool.

Solution 2:

Do manual selection and do outlander rvr, 2011+ and go thru the prompts. all keys lost with or without any working key. In and out in 10 minutes. Must have working Internet. Using im508 and xp400.

Autel XP400 Connect to Car OBD Cannot Read Key Solution

 We are told not to connect Autel IM608 XP400 or XP400 Pro with car’s OBD. Otherwise will damage the xp400.

Still some users accidentally connect the xp400 to the car’s OBD and xp400 does not read keys anymore. Is there a chance to fix it?

Warranty not covered under that circumstance. Because it is not designed to connect thru the OBD port, that inabilities the warranty.

Time to buy a new one. The option is to purchase another PCB at the XP400, or purchase a brand new one. Get a new xp400 pro.

 

However, some experts have worked out a DIY solution. JUST FOR SHARING PURPOSES. You are at your risk. 

They have fixed their burned devices after doing obd connection.

Take it out and soldier on board. Change this component (pcf7991) and it will work again.  The chip can be found inside Opel immo box.

It’s better anyway and protects from doing it again. You can’t go wrong like this.
