Autel IM508 Benz Failed to Clear OEM Key Solution

 Question:

I had a problem that I could not reformat/renew the Mercedes keys with Autel im508 xp400. Are there other ways besides this one?

Solution:

Aute can’t clear/renew original Mercedes key. OEM keys do not work. Only BE keys.

The type of this key can’t renew of this way, but you can use other way desolder nec chip put it on adapter read data chip and renew.

You must be able to reset Chinese v51 keys. Original keys can only be reset or programmed thru nec programer, i.e AK500.

That mean you must desolder nec chip from inside the key, put it in programmer that can program nec chip, and program key file. Can not be done thru ir by any programmer.

if you want to renew keys buy the xhorse vvdi mb tool with nec adapter or cgdi mb device (soldering job). Only keys with NEC inside could be renewed.

You can also use ak500 to rest the nec ic and write back file with vvdi mb.

Autel IM608 Program Jaguar F-pace 2017 Key on Bench

 Q: How Autel IM508/IM608 add key to Land rover Evoque/Discovery and Jaguar 2016/2017 year with secured KVM? Can Autel do this by OBD or bench only?

 

A: Encrypted KVM cannot be done obd, however, you can use replacement keys, the editable keys via obd. Done quite a few that way.

Bench job in 15 minutes. Perform Start key writing buy removing KVM/RFA from the car.

 

2010-2015 (ish) Dpla system – obd
2016-2018 (ish) Fk72 system – bench
2017-2019 (ish) Hpla system – bench
2019+ Jpla system – new kvm module, two new keys and a scan tool with doip j2534 interface

Above are the safe way to do Jaguar and Land rover systems with Autel.

 

Now let’s get down to Autel part.

It is important to know whether the processor is “locked (secured)” or “unlocked (unsecured)”. 

To do this, the adapter is soldered according to the “unlocked” scheme and the status of the chip is read. 

If it is “unlocked” it can be read directly. 

If it is “locked”, the adapter must be soldered according to the scheme and two components must be removed from the circuit board.

 

Here is an example of adding a spare key to Jaguar F-pace 2017 (1M12s mc9s12xeq384) key with IM608.

Main steps:

• Remove the RFA
• Read D-flash and EEPROM
• Perform Start key writing to generate new data
• Write the new data back to RFA
• Assemble the vehicle
• Verify the key function

 

Procedure:

Remove the KVM/RFA Module Secured Module and open cover

Go to Immo Programming- Jaguar- Manual Selection- F-PACE – 2017-2018 Smart Key

Conform vehicle info

Select Control Unit- Start Key Writing

Autel IM608 will show you start key writing instruction and wiring diagram

Read Chip status in Unsecured mode

the adapter is soldered according to the “unlocked” scheme and the status of the chip is read.

The chip is locked. So desolder 2 components

Then solder adapter according to the scheme and two components must be removed from the circuit board.

with the macthing wire harness APA106 of the xp400/xp400 pro, connect the wire as wiring diagram, T1 and T2 indicate the two components to be removed. After all function completed, the two components needs to be re-installed during vehicle assembly.

Select Read/Write Chip (secured)
Read and save eeprom and d-flash separately
Read MCU Data
Read D-flash and EEPROM step by step

Then select Start Key Writing function

Select D-flash file then select EEPROM file read above

Select an unused key position and Add key

Make sure device is well connected and place a key to be programmed into xp400 programmer
Program dealer key successfully

Exit key writing and save new Dflash and EEPROM data
The data file is saved. Write back new data.

Select Read/Write Chip (secured)->Write MCU data

Select new D-flash data and write chip
Select new EEPROM data and write chip

Then verify Key ID

Solder back two components, install RFA module back to vehicle
Test the new key.

It is working. Done.

 

If need to add key via OBD, Lonsdor and Yanhua ACDP do this really well.

If need to program 2017 JLR all keys lost, Londsor is one of the good ones.

How to Solve Autel IM608 Clio V Unlock Failed?

 Problem:

I tried to diagnose a Renault Clio V 2020 with autel im608, it failed me and shows 2 errors.

“Please contact your distributor to purchase the lockout service.”

“Unlocking failed
Error Message: The software service is requesting has not been purchased.”

Any solution?

Solution:

For Renault vehicle with gateway, you need to purchase the Renault gateway unlock authorization or use the Renault gateway adapter.

You can purchase Renault gateway unlock service from “OEM Authorization” function.

Autel does not have a dedicated adapter for Renault. You can use OBDSTAR green adapter or other gateway connectors.

Autel IM608 Adds 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 Fobik Key

With Autel 12+8 cable you must remove all that hassle to get pin code.  Then learn key.

there are several ways to bypass the Chrysler SGW and one of them is through the Star connector, It’s almost always easy to access and you don’t have to disassemble anything.

 

Does the star connector cable work with Autel IM608? Or is the 12+8 bypass cable the only way to do 2017+ Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles. I see a lot of folks say to just use the star connector cable and don’t mention it working with the IM608.

Yes, it works with IM608 and IM508.

Autel does not have Start connector cable for IM608 Pro, but you can use the one from the other equipment.

When the star connection is fully accessible right by the ebrake. That’s a 3 to 5 minute job with the star connector.

 

Or get the brute force style cables and never spend more then 5 minutes hooking up. It has the 2 can lines you connect to the star connector. I upgraded mine and soldered in a star connector plug in, now all I do is plug in and go, I suggest breaking the locking tab off, much easier to get it out and it doesn’t fall out.

How to Fix Autel IM508 Maxi Data Have Been Destroyed?

 Problem:

I have an Autel IM508 and i have this message in the photo and the tool restarts sometimes itself, has anyone else encourage this issue before?

Error “Maxi’s data have been destroyed, in order to fix exception, device will reboot after 1s later”.

Solution:

1. Check if you have deleted some software.

2. Delete all cache and update.

3. If still has this error, restore IM508/IM608 to the factory setting.

Autel IM608 2020 Nissan Sentra Key Not Working Solution

 Here comes the problem:

I tried to do program the key on 2020 Sentra and IM608 killed that car.  I was trying to add a key but something seems to have gone wrong. I plug the connector to the gateway module and to my Autel MaxiIM IM608 (in picture) then went to manual selection, then add a key. For some reason it is now locked up and the existing key will not work. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Here is the solution with the help of Autel tech support.

 

He was able to restore the bcm and ecm by going to HFM restoration then pulled the pin code and added the key WITHOUT buying an ecu or bcm.
Selected by System where it ask me for the vin and manufacturing date.

Then selected the option that says hmf restoration and it brought the car back to life and gave my the code.

Here’s the pics to prove it.

If not working and your car is under the warranty. Called the Dealer and the car doesn’t start at all. The Towing company will take the car to the dealer, they will replace the Smart Key module because it is dead.

Dealer is not the only option.  You can get bcm or ecm replaced and have it reprogrammed by Nissan consult 3+.

 

Anyway, stay away from Sentra. It is dangerous to deal with these Nissan. You may have bricked the BCM.
