Autel IM608 Failed to Clone Chrylser EDC16C2 ECU

Solution:

No direct ECU cloning option.
The function may not appear where the vehicle badge suggestions.

Where is the correct path?
The 2007 PT Cruiser with a 2.2 Mercedes diesel uses a Mercedes ECU architecture (OM646).
The ECU architecture is Mercedes/bosch.

ECU identified:
Bosch EDC16C2
MPC5xx series
Mercedes OM646 platform.

The correct ECU cloning path:

Go to the Mercedes app on the Autel.

Navigate: Immobilizer – Mercedes Expert select – Engine- Control Unit.

Hardware setup

  • Bench mode
  • G-box
  • DB15 cable
  • Stable powder

Perform ECU data cloning:

Original unit:

Read internal flash
read external flash
Read EEPROM, save files.
Write to the donor.

Donor unit:

Write EEPROM
Write internal flash
Write to the external flash.

On the bench: read internal flash, external flash, and EEPROM from the original- write to the donor.

Key Takeaway: Always follow the ECU architecture, not the vehicle brand.
