 How to solve if Autel IM608 asks for a 24-digit security verification code for GM full-size new system vehicles with CAN FD protocol?

They have to run a code to get you into programming and the 12 min wait. But it can be done!

In July 2021, it was reported that 24-digit security verification code calculation service of GM vehicles 2020-2021 CANFD protocol was not responded in time, so Autel team blocked the menu. But we have been receiving strong request to open this menu again from different Autel MaxiIM IM508/IM608 dealers/customers, so the company decides to open the menu again.

In this situation, we need aftersales team to help calculate the 24-digit security verification code and send it to users when user perform this function. The calculation tool can only be placed in Autel China due to some concerns, needs to remotely control Autel China server to calculate this code via Teamviewer.

Calculation Procedure:

1. Go to immo menu select the vehicle ….>Keyless system(CANFD) >add key/ all key lost.

2. Ensure the VCI is connected to the CANFD adapter & press the start/stop button once

3. Send the ECM application code and VIN to after-sales department or a third party (i.e NASTF ) to get obtain ECM security verification code

Contact technical stuff, send application code and VIN to get 24-digit ECM security verification code

4. Enter the ECM security verification code which get from after-sales department or a third party. Press ok.

5. Send the BCM application code and VIN to after-sales department or a third party to get obtain BCM security verification code.

6. Enter the BCM security verification code which get from the after-sales department or a third party. Press ok.

7. Finally close the drive door & press ok. It will configure system & process add key/all key lost.
