Autel IM608 Adds Toyota RAV4 2022 Key by OBD

 Information Only. Here we share a customer’s working experience on a 2022 Toyota Rav4 USA model.

 

2022 Toyota Rav 4, USA, Add Smart key. He has a working key to start the vehicle. The new key was a brand new OEM smart key.

 

First try the UHS Toyota bypass cable, by connecting G box right into the smart box. But did not get any communication.

Second attempt: He then notice that the Autel IM608 had an update for Toyota dated Dec 19th 2022. He performed the updates noticed that after the update it said Back Up IMMO date via OBD, or VIA G-box , he tried G box again and No luck, keep saying no communication to check cable turn off Bluetooth check power etc.

Third attempt: Pulled out the IM508 /KM100 so it will have a straight connection, still no luck

Last try: So he put it all back together and then decided to try to back up IMMO via OBD. G box Was not needed. Connect right into OBD 2 port. It did back up the data, So went into key learning, follow the steps, it asked if back up, clicked yes, and it went into learning mode. And successfully learn a New key via OBD II without doing a In-code or out-code, or any Password, or paying any $30 fee. (You would typically need a in-code & out-code password, just to add a key fob, and would need to pay $30 for the third party service. But this time does not need.)

The new update says in the update that it supports up to 2017. But still worth trying.

How to Connect Mercedes TCM with Autel IM608?

 Problem:

I want to swap mercedes w204 tcm (mercedes w204 is the C class series from 2008 till 2014). The Autel IM608 shows only this drawing. My question is, does this connect to the gbox or the j2534 or same, or both?
I tried connecting the cables from the tcm to the gbox, powered it by the 12 V adapter, and then the gbox to the J2534, and the j2534 through the cable to the tablet.
In fact I didn’t have Resistors at that time other than the ones came with the gbox (900 ohms).
Another thing, the yellow cable as per the drawing is CAN-L, but as per the tag on the cable and the Gbox it is CAN-H (the green is CAN-L as well). So need to know which one to connect to PIN-2 on the transmission (CAN-H or CAN-L). Anyway, I used both ways, once the yellow one then swaped with the green.
As a result, I was not able to communicate with the tcm. Anyone can suggest what was the problem? Is it only that I don’t have the proper resistor? Or the connections? Etc…
Another thing, I need correction if my understanding of the process is wrong. The steps will be:
1. Read old tcm, on bench
2. Virginize the donor tcm, on bench
3. Write data to donor tcm, on bench
4. Write vin to donor tcm, on bench or on car?
5. Coding of the new tcm to the ezs, on vehicle

Solution:

Don’t need gbox2. It is the description and meaning of the wires that matters not wire colors!!! And you need that 120R resistor. This procedure is as simple as that wiring diagram.

Job very easy, people make it so hard,use direct connection to tcm from obd,120ohm required then you are ready to go.

Did not use gbox. I used vci hooked with usb, godiag bench connecter connected with 12v with 120ohm switch. Hook can hi, can low, power and ground.

godiag bench connector has everything you need. The godiag also has the correct round pins for easy attachment the Tcu connector.

Autel IM508 IM608 Adds GM 2022 CAN FD IMMO

 Autel released Immobilizer software in October and September 2022. 

The upgrade can be applied to MaxilM IM508, MaxilM IM608, MaxilM IM608 PRO, OtoSys IM600.

 Tutorial: Hyundai SantaFe 2019-2022 KeylessGo Smart Key programming with Autel IM608/IM508/OtoFix IM1.

 

Go to Immobilizer->Hyundai->Manual selection->Europe-> SantaFe(TM)->2019 onwards->Smart Key

Confirm vehicle information
Go to Control Unit->Keyless System->Remote Control Learning->Smart key learning

This function supports add key and all keys lost. Performing this delete all keys.
Turn the ignition off. Open and close the driver door once

Input pin code and verify

Within 5s after OK is pressed, use the back or top of the smart key to hold down the START button for 5s until the anti-theft lamps flash.

Program succeeded

Repeat to learn 2nd key.
Within 5s after OK is pressed, use the back or top of the smart key to hold down the START button for 5s until the anti-theft lamps flash.
Program succeeded.
