Autel IM608 Program 2025 Nissan Kicks Smart Key with APB131 and CAN FD Adapter

 Here is the user's working experience on Nissan Kicks 2025 smart key programming using Autel IM608. 

2025 Nissan Kicks smart key WITHOUT Consult4! 

First try: IM608+ 40 PIN Cable + APB131 adapter.

When I first came to the vehicle I extracted the pin code within the HFM via eeprom, but I didn’t realize that there is no OBD communication even with the Nissan 40 bypass cable and so was not able to program the extra remote.

This time I came more prepared, I had wiring diagrams of the body control module to pinpoint where the CAN pins are. I realized this vehicle has both Can and CanFD pins and probed both pairs separately. 

When hope began to run dry success struck!

The combination that worked was probing the low speed canH and canL while also having the Autel CANFD adapter connected AND going through 2024+ Pathfinder.

So, extract PIN via eeprom, and then connect the Autel's CANFD adapter's CAN H+L pins directly to the vehicles CAN H+L lines, instead of thru the OBD (used a chrysler bypass cable for the CAN probes, bypassing firewalls), and attempt process selecting Pathfinder 24.

It has also been verified that consult3+ does NOT connect to the vehicle or pull the vin number.

Autel IM608 Cannot Do 2020 Corvette All Keys Lost?

 Question:

2020 Chevrolet Corvette All keys lost. Autel IM608 won’t communicate with ECU.
Any similar experience here?

Solution:

For IM608, you need CAN FD adapter and can only do it during tech hours of Autel. You call them and read the code and they give you the codes to program the keys.

If you want to do the new GM’s you need to really consider getting the obdstar x300 dp plus and CAN FD adapter. it fills more gaps when paired with the im508 then the key tool plus did with the im508.

it’s good on Asian cars too. I had 2 nissan fails in the last month, 1 was a Sentra, forgot the other one, obdstar did it Fine. Autel did program the chip part, but not remote.

Can Autel IM608 Program Silverado 2021 Proximity?

 Both tools will do Chevy Silverado 2021 blade and smart keys.

 

Autel IM508/IM608 does not have the 2021 Silverado in the coverage list.

The list is not 100% correct. Autel adds new CAN FD models smart keys in July 2021.

Escalade 2021 proximity

Tahoe 2021 proximity

Silverado 2021 proximity

Suburban 2021 proximity

We have customers did 2021 Silverado both with and without adapter. 

1).

We have customer did a 2021 Silverado no adapter is needed.  It was smart fob key. im508 pulled it from the bcm no problem. Still good on Silverados. Keyed or proximity.

Sierra should be the same.

 

2).

We had another customer just used the CAN FD adapter and it works great. On a 2021 Silvarado, push to start. Used manual selection, under 2020.

prox key with the Can FD, and it pulled pin in less then a min, then took 10 for security granted, and key went right in.

 

FYI:

No need for the adapter for 2020 2021 Silvarado. 2021 gmc Sierra and silverado are on the old system. Autel will do all series trucks 1500-3500.

Just make sure your USB cable (the one that came with im608) is connected and not using Bluetooth. It always pulls the pin very fast, same with this screen when it “checks” the pin code just prior to the 10 minute programming cycle , it never even counts to 1% before it succeeds and moves on to Programming.

 

All the new SUVs (Yukon, Tahoe, Escalade etc), new 2021 proximity is CAN FD immo system. An Autel CAN FD adapter is required.  For the new system it needs outside help for pincode.

Full size vehicles are different than the others. on the full size models you have to get a pincode, that isn’t pulled from the vehicle like the other models.

OBDSTAR x300 dp plus is the one that will do the new GM system. The obdstar does it from the tool, but obviously it needs internet so it can get the pin code. Thats the reason I bought the obdstar. it does all the 2021 gm’s. Need to pay an extra OBDSTAR CAN FD Adapter (Supports GM Cadillac Chevrolet GMC Buick 2020 2021)

It even does alot of 21 ford’s too. same with Toyota corolla proxy all keys lost, it’s able to bypass the 12 digit pin. They use a new toyota cable to do it.

I still use my autel as my go to tool. but it does do those new cars that others can’t do yet.

Autel IM508 Cannot Add Key 2021 Cadillac Escalade?

 Problem:

Hooked up autel im508 on a 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Need to add a new key but im508 cannot communicate with this model.

Solution:

Autel vehicle coverage stops at 2020 for this model Cadillac. It can do some GM’s but it would have required a CANFD adapter no matter what, but no 2021 full size suv and trucks yet. Maybe they will update to 2021 later.

What tool will do?

1. OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus/Key Master DP plus + OBDSTAR CAN FD adapter

This kit can do Cadillac Escalade 2021, also does 2021 dodges.

Can I use CAN FD Adapter with Autel IM508 IM608?

 Does anyone know if this CAN FD adapter is compatible with the autel im608 pro. Or the team doesn’t need it to work with the CAN FD line?

Yes, the CAN-FD adapter is compatible with IM508, IM608, IM608 Pro and the JVCI.
the IM608 does not come with CAN-FD protocol which you need for CAN-FD work.
