Autel Website Removed IM508 Vehicle Coverage List?

 Some users noticed on the  Autel website when selecting “supported vehicles” the info has changed. No longer have Autel KM100/IM508/IM608 on the list and when choosing vehicles icons are gone and you get a list of every function.

It’s on the machine itself now! They removed key programming listings for KM100/IM508/IM608.

How to check vehicle coverage for these devices?

Option 1: You can view it directly on your tablet.

Option 2: Autel will generate PDF vehicle model lists for KM100/IM508/IM608.

Option 3: Or use OTOFIX website.

If you switch to the otofix coverage lookup for the otofix im2 immo it’s like the 508/608’s old lookup still.

Autel IM608 II Update 2025 Toyota RAV4, Tacoma, Land Cruiser, Prius

 Autel MaxiIM IM508S/IM608 II as well as KM100 released new Toyota and Lexus Immobilizer software on Dec. 30th, 2024. IM508 and IM608 will receive the same update later.

All keys lost function were removed from North American devices.

For other regions, if 2025 Toyota/Lexus model has the same system as 2024/2023 model, Autel can do all keys lost as well.

Alternative for Autel After Removes Toyota AKL Function

 Recently Toyota Motor North America requested that Autel remove all keys lost security capabilities for Toyota vehicles sold in their country asserting that such functionality goes beyond what is permitted in the license agreement for the software. Now there is no Immo smart box function menu on Autel IM608/IM508/KM100 devices.

Here’s an update straight from Autel, regarding the Toyota situation. This is for North America, doesn’t effect in Australia or for those in Europe etc.

Its a legal issue with Toyota that forced Autel to take off the function.

Can’t generate analog key and can’t reset smart box either.  No immo reset menu (see image below)

For all keys lost on proxy keys you need server access you need the seed code to be able to reset it. It’s only on the older non smart keys that you can do offline and those option are still on the tool.

It’s not Autel that did this it’s Toyota all tools lost Toyota server access but you can still do it like we did before autel had server access by backing up eeprom data and then using that to bypass pin or if you really must do it by OBD and not unplug the smart box then you can buy access to seed codes and still do it that way but you need to have NASTF for the seed key access again.

We think its to start forcing Autel to do the NASTF integration on the tool.

It affects any vehicles that require using the Toyota server. So even if you don’t update most will models will not work. Regardless of if you update or not, anything that will need internet won’t have server access. If you don’t update will still remove items the moment any wifi source is located without your permission.

You may be able to still AKL on older models. For example at least Ford/Mazda until 2017-ish did not need server access.

 

It’s still a great value for its cost.  We still use them, keep subscriptions updated, also have factory tools including the newer jlr factory tools and factory access. Every tool has it pros and cons but all of our Autel still work great but they’re legit business tools.

Add a key is still available. It can help add keys, but not force new keys without at least one known key available. That’s pretty much it. The rest of its features are there.

 

 

Any alternatives for Toyota, since Autel doesn’t do it anymore ? What all other tools is everyone using? Or switching too?

Some programmers are still capable. We still have Lonsdor, OBDSTAR, Smart Pro and Xhorse vvdi key tool plus. Or autopropad from xtool.

 

Lonsdor K518 has good Toyota coverage. It’s a good all rounder and excellent value for money. Using the emulators, you can do many Toyota all keys lost via OBD  (need to activate Toyota AKL license). Lonsdor has ADP25 adapter and Toyota BA cable to bypass pin code. Lonsdor also have LT20 series smart keys.

OBDSTAR– OBDSTAR also has good Toyota coverage. You can back up immo data with the simulator for all keys lost via OBD for many models. They just added Toyota Corolla 2023- smart key function.

 

Xhorse- key tool max pro, key tool plus also do Toyota all key lost. They even launched a special Mini FD OBD tool $80 for Toyota. With the cheap OBD tool you can do both new and old Toyotas.

The XM38 Toyota remote is of great value. You can generate lots of Toyota remote and customize frequency/buttons. Xhorse also has Toyota 8A blade key and BA AKL adapter for Toyota.

 

Autopropad or SmartPro- much more reliable and has one of the best user interfaces of any of the devices mentioned.
It is a good tool for a beginner, but still quite expensive for what it is actually capable of.

Autel Honda Accord 2022 No Start Bricked BCM Key Solution

We have pointed out the tips to avoid bricking BCM when program smart key for new Honda Accord 2018+ using Autel MaxiIM KM100, IM508, IM608 etc.

But how to fix if your did not follow the tips and bricked the BCM?

Here is the clue.

 

For example:

Failed to program a new key on a 2022 Honda Accord when lost all keys with Autel KM100.

Error registration has failed, the vehicle is a no crank no start.  any solution?

When it asks of the vehicle is 2020+ the ONLY correct answer is NO.
Once you Select YES you will damage the BCM.

 

In cars where the square key is used like the one in the photo, you have to answer that the vehicle is before 2022. It is a system error. Doing it wrong can damage the BCM. The other problem is that only some keys are accepted. The Autel ones don’t work for you. Xhorse key works.

We’ve seen a lot of guys post about the same issue where they go to try to program keys for this car the key programmer will ask them whether it’s the new immobilizer system or the old one

and whenever they answer the question Yes which a lot of times is the correct answer the BCM becomes corrupt and then it will no longer take a key.

 

You now have two options:
1: Tow car to Honda dealer for BCM replacement
2: Use Xhorse universal keys. No one knows why Xhorse universals will still work on this broken car, but they do.

Most likely the Xhorse key generates with certain page data already locked where as Autel & aftermarket lock when successfully programmed. Since the BCM can’t send the data to lock the chip anymore it explains why nothing else works.

The BCM can become damaged when trying to use an aftermarket programmer to add a key. The fix for this would be to have the vehicle towed to a Honda dealer and pay to replace the BCM and program new keys.

We can start the vehicle up and save the owner from having to take the car to the dealer spending a ton of money to replace the BCM just to get the car started.

 

However, there is a work around that I have read about on several locksmith forums. They say that you can actually get the vehicle to start using a generated Xhorse Universal Smart key. For some reason even though the BCM will no longer accept OEM or aftermarket keys, it will accept an Xhorse smart key.

Xhorse universal smart keys are actually really good quality keys people use them all the time.

 

Let’s go to Vehicle remote and go down to Honda.
We are going to look for Honad Accord, find the correct FCC ID.
You can see that it has CWTWB1G0090 FCC ID.

If you look this key is actually an online Cloud generated key only meaning that you have to be connected to the internet in order to generate this key.
You need vvdi key tool max, key tool max pro or key tool plus. You know the KTM, KTMP or KTP stores the key in its database.
You cannot generate these online cloud-based remotes using vvdi mini key tool.

Let’s go ahead and generate the remote.
Then the key is ready to be programmed to the vehicle.

You can program the xhorse smart key generated with key tool plus, IM508 or other universal key programmers.

Program 2023 Lexus IS300 All Keys Lost with Autel KM100

 2023 Lexus IS300 all smart keys lost is done by Autel MaxiIM KM100. The device makes the lost key by itself. It does not need to backup immo data or need a 12-digit outcode.

 

Procedure:

Connect VCI with OBD, pair KM100 with VCI200 via bluetooth.

Select IMMO->Lexus->Manual Selection->USA->IS300->2016-2020->Smart Key->Control Unit-> Keyless System (CAN)

Read number of keys. 2 keys were programmed.

Failed to backup immo data on this model.
So we do a smart box reset.

How to Generate Autel Universal Keys with IM508 IM608?

 You don’t need the Autel KM100 to set up the autel ikey universal key. You can do it with the IM508 and IM608 as well. Then program the fob to the vehicle.

Here is the instruction on using Autel IM508 XP400Pro to program Autel universal iKey.  The function only suports XP400 or XP400 Pro.
