Autel IM608 RAV4 2022 ECU Software Not Supported?

 Problem:

Anyone able to do a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Smart Key with Autel IM608? I keep getting this error message when trying to back up immo data.

Error “The current smart main ECU software version number is not supported”

Solution:

Go to add a key after reset, and it will ask you if you want to use APB112, say no and it will prompt you to program and you can turn ignition on, i get this message every time i try to back immo data on any new toyota smart keys or if you try and do all keys lost by using analog key. Good luck.

 


If it is a BABA need to hook up 30 pin connector.

Need cable connection.

You can also use the gbox with just jumper wires. All it does is connect power ground and Can H & Can L to the smart box, and allows you to back up immo. depending on the smart box, you sometimes need to move one of the cables according to the wire diagram.

My frind also did one 2023 rav4 hybrid with xhorse xm38 reading immo fine, oh, try keep pushing and releasing start/stop button on this stage, obdstar prompt this, not Autel, and I then try the same with Autel on this car and it worked , but may have some using a different ECU which will need a obdstar 30 pin cable to connect to smartbox. I did a 2022 rav4 Prime using that.

I was able to complete the job. I ended up doing smart box reset like method 1 above.

How to Use Toyota 24 & 27 Cable with Autel IM608?

Question: I bought these OBDSTAR Toyota 24 & 27 pin connectors to read smart boxes. But they have a 16 pin obd2 connector on the other end. Does anyone know if I can just connect it directly to my Autel Gbox obd2 connector instead of through the port on the side like with the DB15 cable? Will it work the same?

Answer:

The pin arrangements for the connectors to the smart box and they are the same as where Autel wants you to connect their DB15 cable. Powers, grounds and CAN lines.

You don’t need g-box with this cable. just connect one end to Autel im608 jvci, other end to car obd and the white plug goes directly to smartkey ecu. Make sure to remove the other 2 smartkey ecu connectors.

Program Mercedes GL450 Used TCU with Autel IM608

 This is a 2008 Mercedes GL450. We need to swap TCU transmission control unit and program it another donor one to the vehicle using Autel MaxiIM IM608 on the bench.

Let’s go ahead and do it.

Select Immobilizer- Manual selection- GL/GLS- 2006 to 2008

From here we’re going to go to Control unit- TCU tools

Go to check the wiring diagram first

this is the connections that we have to make between the transmission control unit and the obd cable that’s coming off the jbox on the im608 or the regular obd cable

As you see we have one power and one ground since we don’t have power and ground coming from anywhere

so i just decided to use this power pack or booster pack

i use the power and ground with it another leak coming to here

We’ve done the wiring

press Exit

we’re gonna go to read TCU data, Read the data save it. Then we’re going to go to renew TCU. It’s going to get a erase password off the internet.

Only password is the erasure password which is easily calculated by im608. No other password is required.

Then it will renew the whole transmission control unit, make it brand new since this one right now is a used one.

Read TCU data.

There’s all the data. As you see here it says yes yes no no and I’ve actually renewed it.  Press OK it will save it.

Then you go to Renew TCU

Mine has been renewed. So just follow IM608 prompt to renew.

 

What we need to do next is remove the other transmission control unit from car,  read the original information and write that original information into this donor one and put it back in the car.

this is the original one, we attached the wires the same way
first i should read data on this one and then just go to renew it, then program it and call it a day.

since this is the original transmission it has never been renewed
this has been programmed and you see it is initialized and TP cleared
We save transmission information that’s the most important part

we are going to Renew TCU.

Network connection is required to obtain erase password. Renew TCU success. Save data again.

so I am gonna connect back again the new one and write information on that

Since it has been renewed, all i have to do is Load TCU data

Then Write TCU data

load again correct TCU with the correct number in it again

Autel IM608 BMW CAS3 File Version Error 4096

 Problem:

I’m doing bmw Cas 3+ (0L15Y) all keys lost with Autel MaxiIM IM608. I want to program a new key on bench. this is the message I’m getting when trying to load the file, I’m connected to internet but still no change. please help what could be the problem

Solution:

You don’t need gbox and the jbox vci on bench. Just programmer.
If you read it on the bench under 0L15Y under xp400 programmer, immobilizer, bmw, cas3+(0LY15), read and save both eeprom and flash, then your done on bench, take vci and IM608 programmer to vehicle and you have to do make key by dump file and do 64 rolling attempts to match the vehicle with key.

Read password success (very fast with gbox). Add a new key success.

Autel IM608 and Gbox2 Read BMW N20 DME ISN

Here's the instruction on how to perform a BMW N20 DME ISN reading with the Autel MaxiIM IM608 and G-Box2.


Connect N20 DME unit with G-Box2, J2534 VCI and IM608 follow the wiring diagram
  • Remove the engine ECU module from the vehicle
  • Connect the Engine ECU interface to the DB15 harness according to the ECU interface punctuation in the wiring diagram.
  • Connect the DB15 harness to the G-Box, then connect the P terminal of the G-Box to the IM608. Connect the 12 DC terminal of the G-box to the 12V adapter.

Select IMMO function->BMW->System selection->Engine->Direct->Quick Entrance

IM608 requires input the 10 digits Bosch number. Press "Help" to check the 10-digit number.

Enter the Bosch number and press OK to continue
The Bosch number can be found on the DME unit.

Press "Bench" button to go to the ECU type and chip type selection menu.

Make sure the well connection is built

Current function need internet connection. Make sure network is working properly and keep this state during the whole process.
Do not use Bluetooth connection.
Do not disconnect the power supply 12V 3A to ensure stable operating voltage.

remove the eis from the vehicle, shown in the pic below, correctly connect the eis to the g-box, and then perform the all keys lost

  1. connect device, obd cable and obd connector on the wiring harness in sequence
  2. connect the ir key simulator (apb102, apb103) to the programmer
  3. insert the ir key simulator (apb102, apb103) into the eis and start collecting data
  4. password calculation completed!
