Autel IM608 Clone Mercedes ME9.7 ECU

 We have two Mercedes engine computers. The original one is from 2011 Mercedes C300 and it is messed up.

We have the original one here and a junkyard one here. We bought another one from the junkyard which belongs to another vehicle. We cannot just put on car and program it without knowing OEM software anything like that. It’s been activated by another car and we need to deactivate this module and write the coding files and all the immobilizer information from the original module to the new module ecu.

What we are trying to do is extract the data from this and program it to the new one using Autel IM608/IM608 PRO/IM608 II.

The bosch part number is printed right on the bottom of it and it’s a me 9.7 type of ecu.

if you look at this one there’s also a me 9.7 type of ecu but the batch part numbers are slightly different.

This could this can cause a problem even during the programming or if it goes if the programming goes through the car might not start actually or it might start it might not give you any

problems but it’s kind of risky but this is how this process is done if you’re changing a me 9.7 type of ecu on a mercedes-benz this is exactly what you’re supposed to do if your modules are fine

if the part numbers are fine your car should be able to start.

Go to wiring diagram. This is the connection diagram if you’re using a g box we have four wires coming out of it ground, power CAN high and can L

We have two power lines at of what is this 15 and 16 and then 41 and 54 is a can high and can low and number two is the ground. We already did this setup.

Also in here this is a db15 a plug that goes onto the gbox and power with 12v external power supply.

This is the obd extension that comes from the jbox of the Autel.

Just be careful check everything over and over again couple of times and then start doing this process.

We ju read the engine ecu information and we also want to read the coding of the car.

Then we need to backup coding on bench.

This will back up actually the scn coding.

Our file is saved. Take a screen snapshot of that too. We hit okay, backup coding is done.

Now we’re done with this computer.

Now we hook back up the wires to the donor ECU and start renewing and writing procedure.

I already did the on connections on the donor ecu. just the same exact way as original one.

Now we have the donor ECU computer connected to the autel im608.
First read ecu data to check if we have proper communication with this module.

if you can read whole d flash and p flash which is the data bank you know the eerpom you can just clone it and it will be much easier.

If im608 can communicate ME9.7 module, we are going to renew this ecu.

Autel wants to get erase your password.

It will calculate the erase calculation password.

Let’s go to read engine ecu. What it said was not activated not personalized. The donor ECU is renewed.

Now we can write an engine ecu vin number. Select Write engine (ECU) VIN.

So the first thing you will do is we’ll be writing the vin number to the car.

It will first write the vin number into the ecu before you do anything else.

and then what we could do is we could load the engine ecu information. Upload the ecu data that received from the original ecu.

It is the same exact information still on this one because we already did the deactivation.

Then we write engine ECU data.

It will write the information that we read from that module (all the key information and all the immobilizer information).

Now all we have to do is write the coding the SCN coding with im608,  the one we read from the original computer on bench.

It will only be not activated at this moment. Let’s press Activate engine ECU and wait for it to finish.

You only can do this function actually if the car don’t start because of eis problems/ignition switch problems. and then it will just remember the system for you.

But i don’t think we need to do this particular module because I never had to do it at least at the one that I have done before.

 

Now if you read the engine ecu information, it’s basically going to be almost same exact thing as this one.

If the parts number were the same, if it was the same exact modules, i put this module into car without doing anything the car would have started immediately.

As you can see everything is here. Now it says personal lights personalized,  it’s just not activated once you put into the engine, once you plug the engine computer to the can bus network, once it sees the EIS, it starts talking to the EIS. It will activate itself automatically.

Will Autel IM608 Program Xhorse Audi 754J Key?

 Question: Is it possible to program xhorse audi 754j smart key with Autel MaxiIM IM508/IM608?

Answer:

Yes, it can, the key cannot be cloned, you can just generate it.
Generate with xhorse key tool.
I’ve done at least 10.

Autel IM608 Kadjar 2016+ Add Key Failed UCH Blank Solution

 Here comes the problem:

An Autel MaxiIM IM608 user was doing a 2017 Kadjar im608 spare key job. Start procedure to read pin but failed. He has no ISK and BCM is on virgin state.  Dflash 64kb is saved on im608. Read dflash with smok and it is different than original saved by im608. Try to repeat key learning and add key..no success. Bcm mcu is 0n13e spc5606B it’s locked for read and write.

Immo shows, Keys 0, virgin state not learned.  With smok ISK target not found. Any solution?

 

Here’s the clue:

Renault after 2016 are the worst card to work on. You must fully charge car or user additional power supply.  Kadjar is much more dangerous because it cannot be backed up after a failure.

Best solution:

Once dflash is virgin state, Renault server can bring it back to life. You can learn UCH online. Someone with an online account at Renault (who works for the dealer) can relearn the UCH and reprogram the key. Online renault should adapt it to car and you retry to learn. Once you will learn uch and relearn original card – after that you can start once again with adding spare card.

The car is back to life.

If this happen to anyone don’t waste time trying to restore this with available tools on the market.

Read ecu in boot mode sid310 and get someone to extract ISK is not working.

Only way to code this car is 32 digit pin number that sofar im aware its only available in BCM or available with Renault.net.

Ecu sid310 holds ISK number but its not 32 digits. Its 16 and its used to virgin ecu I believe with different tools…Not for programming immo..and I can’t see any available tool that can extract 32digit pin from sid310.

Bcm is locked for reading on bench. I make up jtag connection and tried with Smok ..CPT ..VVDI.
Smok and CPT can see mcu ID but then a message appears mcu no connection or locked for reading.
So can’t even backup data before key learning.
So don’t waste time taking it out.
Bcm Mcu mask 0N13E spc5606BK.

Found source to get pin through Renault. But Autel support was quicker.

Once I opened thicket through Autel.com and report my issue. Few days after guy emailed me to upload logs from fail to add key.

1 hour later he emailed me back that data is corrected now on server for my car.

Try add again and 32 digit pin was displayed on im608.

Continue make dealer key and add two keys successfully.
No additional coding needed it. car started as normal.

Autel support fixed the file on their side and that allow me to continue the job with im608 and finish the learning procedure.

They adjust the data on the server. maybe the software version of this bcm was the problem and they just add it to server manually.

I am happy that the problem has been solved, the truth is that it encourages us to continue using the Autel device.

 

 

FYI: What is a better tool to do Kadjar 2016+?

Smart pro and AVDI are good for Renault.  AVDI save file and configuration,write new Flash for read PIN code & program Cards. It is safe. Other tools on the market don’t have this function.

It keeps logs and backups making it the safer option.

 

However there is a risk on all of these later renault systems no matter what tool you use, abrites or smart pro there is still a risk involved.

for instance smart pro clearly state on their my keys site that for kadjar and other renault models

” There are some inherant risks in writing uch software, it is impossible for advanced diagnostics to completely remove these risks, the tester will have a warning screen about software use to which you will have to agree before you can continue with the process”

so smart pro does warn of risks and you continue at your own risk and responsibility . they also clearly state that adequate battery support is essential! not advised but essential, and a battery pack is not adequate battery support.

so the reality is nothing is 100% safe with these systems, just some tools are safer than others.

avdi did have a problem on uk built trafic and vivaro which they quickly fixed,  but there’s still a risk all be it smaller, these systems carry a risk, no tool is 100% safe to use on them.

Here are some situations you can try:

1. Delete the unnormal vehicle app, then re-download: Data Manager >> Uninstall >> App >> Delete, update;

2. Asian vehicle: delete SD >> Scan >> Vehicle immo >> Asia >> Talos, then update;

3. Chinese vehicle: delete SD >> Scan >> Vehicle immo >> Domestic >> Conqueror, then update;

4. Programmer: Data manager >> Uninstall app >> Delete, then update.

How to Test Autel XP400 Pro if It is Not Working?

Here is the Autel XP400 Pro programmer self test guide.

Normal situation

Steps:
1. While in the main menu screen, connect the programmer.
2. Click Programmer to enter (can display the menu normally).
3. Click on Version information (can read version information normally).

Abnormal situation

Steps:
1. While in the main menu screen, connect the programmer.
2. Click on Programmer software to enter (Error reported that the programmer is disconnected but Xp400pro displays green light)
3. Try the Xp400Pro to connect the PC software. And XP400pro should be worked with PC software.

After use Xhorse to generate a Lexus Smart key. Backup immobilizer data with Autel IM508 and APB112 smart key simulator key programmer.

Make an analog key and then add key.

G box Was not needed. Connect right into OBD 2 port. It did back up the data, So went into key learning, follow the steps, it asked if back up, clicked yes, and it went into learning mode. How to Solve Autel IM608 Camry 2022 Remote Not Working?

Problem:
Just did and add key on a 2022 Toyota Camry push to start with Autel IM608 pro and the keys start the car but the remotes don’t do anything.

key is brand new from Toyota and customer’s original key starts the car but no remote. It is not the problem of key.

 

 

Solution:

I had this same problem a while ago with Camry 2023 AKL and had to use smart pro to re synce the keys and then it worked.

You need to sync remotes again. You have to register the ID’s back to the smart box.

It’s a common problem with those new style Toyota keys. Have to re-register remote id’s.

Autel has the feature you have to go under Diagnostics->Control module->Special function, click on the ECU communication ID registration.

The ECU communication ID should be registered when the transponder key ECU and/or the ECM is replaced in order to match it to the ECM COMMUNICATION ID.
