I have this tool since may. it is getting better and better , support is quick. error logs they always reply and send beta version to fix the issues. it is very good tool for bmw as well done few cas2 and 3 keys, I have downgrades 3 cas+ as well without any issues.

Personal experience:

Asian brands: Good programming and diagnostic functions, certainly a strong point.

US brands: Good all round coverage, and looks like it will continue to develop.

Europe brands: Can do basic diagnostic (nothing special) and has poor key programming.

Eeprom functions: Still lots of development to do.

Autel Maxisys Elite test report:

Toyota Sienna:

2011 Toyota Sienna had the TPMS check light on for the longest time. Toyota dealer wanted $135 to diagnose it and ball parked $150 to fix it. Of course at $285, I could buy this tool and a sensor. So I did. Turns out one of the sensor was dead. Used the TS501 to read all four sensor IDs from the OBD then found the culprit sensor ID by process of elimination. Cloned the ID into a new Autel MX sensor and swapped it out with the old one. After driving the car for 20 min, the ECM recognized that there was an active sensor with the same ID, check light went OFF. Checked that there was no other DTC with another OBD tool, then cleared the old TPMS error code from the ECM using the TS501.

Toyota 4Runner:

I was having trouble with one of my sensors on my 06′ 4Runner and decided it was time to get it looked AT but wasn’t able to just drop it off at my local Firestone. Ordered the TS501K with included sensors after reading the reviews. I ordered this because of the included sensors that came in the package. It’s ready to go right out if the box and stores your vehicle in its memory, which came in handy because the first time I tried it kept duplicating 1 of the 5 sensors in the tires. It was a little frustrating at first so I let it go for a few days. Gave it another shot and went through the prompts and bingo. All sensors programmed. Relearning to the CPU was simple and the best part… No more blinking light. Great product! Easy to use.

Mercedes & BMW:

In order to perform the stated coding and programming abilities on BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, you must have a valid and current service subscription through Autel.

Hyundai:

I have hooked this product up to everything from an ’05 Subaru STI to a 2013 Hyundai Genesis coupe. Links up great with no issues whatsoever. VERY happy with this purchase and would purchase it again in a heartbeat. I’m a die-hard PC-scanner based supporter. However, I wanted something relatively cheap that has similar capabilities but doesn’t require a laptop. This fit the bill perfectly.

A lotttt:

I tested it on a lot of vehicles of my family and neighbors, such as 2008 Ford F-150, 2011 Honda Civic, 2013 Honda Accord, 2015 Nissan Altima, and etc. Not only I but my wife uses it on a daily basis for reading DTCs, turning off SEL, and testing the vehicle emissions for a state program.

Autel MaxiPC Suite Update to Work with XP400 and XP200

Good news!!! Autel MaxiPC Suite has been updated to work with the XP400 and XP200.

What does this software do?

MaxiPC Suite is an updater program. It is used to update the Autolink tools, MaxiDiag tools, TS tools, and recently added XP Key programming tools.

What is the XP400 and XP200?

XP adapters are the key programming tools for Autel MaxiIM IM508 and IM608.  IM608 uses XP400, IM508 uses XP200. 

Autel MaxiSys Elite, IM508, IM608 Which tool to buy?

As titled, which scanner should I buy among Autel MaxiSys Elite, MaxiIM IM508 and IM608?  Let's start with some FAQs.


Q1: So im608 is different from ms906bt?

A1: The ms906BT is a diagnostic tool ( stage 2) that has key coding at a level 2.5 out of 5. The IM608 is a stage 3 tool that has level 5 out of 5 key coding coverage and the same diagnostic software as the BT plus the j2534 for programing.



Q2: Which one better zedfull or this? Both of them same price but Im608 from China and zedfull From Europe Turkish?

A2: It really just depends on which vehicles you want to take on as each key coding tool has its value proposition. What I can confirm is that I havent seen a key coding machine that also has diagnostic softer ( as great as the Autel) and a j2534. So im terms of overall value the IM608 is great. You need to contact ZEDBull and see any documentation on its coverage to compare. IM608 is very good better than zedfull it dose ecu programming keys what ever you imagine.



Q3: Autel IM608 will do imports like Toyota,Lexus,Nissan,Subaru and more?

A3: Yes, we have checked and Validated all of those vehicles have key coding / diagnostic options available. There is about 50 manufacturers on the Immobilizer software and over 80 manufacturers on the diagnostic software


Q4: What about the im508,I already have a Elite so I don't need another big scanner just the key programing side of it.

A4: It depends on what you specialize in. If you don't specialize in bmw and benz the IM508 is good option. Other than that its like a 4 out of 5 in overall key coding.

The IM508 has level 4 key coding capability ( out of 5) level 1 diagnostic capability ( just read and erase codes primarily .. limited special functions) Only certain BMW and Benz it wont decode since it doesn't have the hardware that comes with the IM608


Q5:Do you know if autel makes a tool just for key programming without the vehicle diagnostics ?

A5: At the moment they do not offer dedicated key coding machines. There are many other companies who sell dedicated key coding machines. Maybe that might be a better match for you.


In conclusion:

Autel MaxiIM IM608 is the Autels First Key Coding Machine. This is a stage 3 device that has lock smith level key coding and the same diagnostic software and special functions at the MS908. Plus it has a j2534 so you can program blank ECU module. Its a really good solution since everything is all in one scanner. 

If you don't specialize in BMW and Mercedes IMMO and service functions, you can go for IM508.

If you need to perform BMW and Mercedes ECU programming, buy MS908P/Elite instead. Because IM608 doesn't have this possibility. 

Overall, Autel IM608 is a good buy.

Autel IM608 No Vehicle Menu After Update Solution

Problem: 
I have changed my Autel MaxiIM IM608 language to Korean. I found the vehicle menu shows nothing (no vehicle selection) after run an current upgrade. How to solve the problem?

Autel IM608 and MaxiSys MS908P which one to choose?

Autel MaxiIM IM608 has the same diagnostic software as Autel maxisys MS908p, but it covers immo functions, special functions and programming/reflashing abilities which MS908p cannot work. Pls read the chart for details

To sum up,

Autel IM608 key programming function is MUCH better than Autel Maxisys series.
IM608 comes with a XP400 programmer to read/write MCU, EEPROM Chip, IC card, key frequency etc. But Maxisys does not.
Maxisys MS908P could program the ECU of Benz and BMW, and have ECU coding function.
IM608 only could ECU code (ECU coding), could not program ECU of cars.
Both tools have trust and sustainability. Thus, if you are focus on key programming, go for IM608 instead.

If you need a tool for diagnosis only, MS908 is a decent machine at a better price.

Program Audi A6 2011 All Keys Lost with Auro OtoSys IM600

Car model: Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011
Key type: 8E chip transponder
Purpose: program dealer key when all keys lost
Method: on the bench
Devices used:
8E transponder and key blank
Auro OtoSys IM600/ Autel MaxiIM IM608 key programmer

Major progress:
1.Read EZS
2.Load EZS
3.Make dealer key
4.Learn key

Procedure:
1.Read IMMO data from EZS

Connect UP400 eeprom programmer with EZS follow the wiring diagram (you can check the wiring in IM600/IM608 menu)
Select Read EZS data by dump (All key lost)-> Read data by dump

Reading EZS dump in process, the green indicator on up400 programmer will turn on

Read EEPROM from EZS success. Save data

Save data success. Display vehicle information, PIN, CS, key number etc

2. Load EZS Data
set up bench connection

Select EZS-Kessy AUDI A6/Q7->Load EZS data

Load data saved in step 1 and confirm vehicle information

3.Make dealer key
Select Make dealer key

Put a blank key or chip into Autel IM608 xp400/ IM600 up400 programmer keyhole and press OK to continue

Communication
Make dealer key success

4. Learn key
Select Learn key

Remove key chip form keyhole
Insert chip into key blank and turn on ignition
Select number of keys need to learn

Turn ignition OFF
Insert the sequence keys that need to be learned and turn ignition switch to CRANK.
For each key, wait for the steering column lock status to become unlocked is need.

Key learning completed.

Autel MaxiIM IM608 Program Renault Megane III Key Card

How-to: add a spare keyless-go remote key card to Renault Megane III year 2009 to 2015 by using Autel MaxiIM IM608 key programmer. No doubt the smartest investment for your workshop.

Tools needed:
IM608 tablet
2 key cards, original key card and blank key card
Enable network connection (required when reading password)

Original key can start engine

New blank key cannot start engine


Procedure:
Insert original key card into card slot and turn on ignition switch
In Autel IM608, Select IMMO function->Manual selection->Renault->Megane III->2009-2015-> Keyless System (CAN)->Key learning->Learn the key

Both 2 keys need to be learnt

Remove key card from slot and turn off ignition
Push START/STOP button to wake up car activity if in sleep mode.
Press OK to start key programming

Reading password in progress

Make sure network is enabled

Note:
1.No data is programmed to card in next step
2. Max 2 blank card can be presented for programming (4 cards in total)
3.Blank card that was not presented during next step, will not be accepted during learning step.

Insert next key card and press READ button to read card information
Press Next to continue
Remove card

Insert card (original key card) fully to the card reader slot and then press OK
Programming card in process

Program key card success. Press Yes to program next key card
Remove 1st key card and insert 2nd one
Follow same steps to program 2nd key card until success

Remove card and disconnect Autel MaxiIM IM608 key programmer
Test remote control and start engine with the new key card.

Both key works.
