Can Autel IM608 Program TPMS Sensor?

 Can Autel IM608 pro be used to program a new TPMS Tyre valve on an Opel Astra 2017? TPMS is listed in the service menu but did not have any luck with it. Just wondered if anyone had any luck with it. What I could not understand is where it says “hold the antenna of low frequency tool, or equivalent against the tire sidewall”. Does that mean it needs another tool to go with it?

Answer & suggestion:

Autel MS906 also has TPMS in the service menu,  but for the registration of the sensors you need another tool – TS (MS906TS, TS401, TS501, TS601, TS508, TS608 MaxiTS series) with which you wake up the sensors, otherwise it doesn’t work.

Astra needs a secondary device to activate the sensor, autel im608 will only put car to programing mode but you will need a seperate tool to activate the sensor.  I have done last week with other tools, not possibble without specific sensor activation tool

You can write the sensors Id manually. But it’s way easier and faster with TS 508 or Ts601.

Program Mercedes GL450 Used TCU with Autel IM608

 This is a 2008 Mercedes GL450. We need to swap TCU transmission control unit and program it another donor one to the vehicle using Autel MaxiIM IM608 on the bench.

Let’s go ahead and do it.

Select Immobilizer- Manual selection- GL/GLS- 2006 to 2008

From here we’re going to go to Control unit- TCU tools

Go to check the wiring diagram first

VGS/VGS2/VGS3 NAG2 wiring diagram

this is the connections that we have to make between the transmission control unit and the obd cable that’s coming off the jbox on the im608 or the regular obd cable

As you see we have one power and one ground since we don’t have power and ground coming from anywhere

so i just decided to use this power pack or booster pack

i use the power and ground with it another leak coming to here

We’ve done the wiring

press Exit

we’re gonna go to read TCU data, Read the data save it. Then we’re going to go to renew TCU. It’s going to get a erase password off the internet.

Only password is the erasure password which is easily calculated by im608. No other password is required.

Then it will renew the whole transmission control unit, make it brand new since this one right now is a used one.

Read TCU data.

There’s all the data. As you see here it says yes yes no no and I’ve actually renewed it.  Press OK it will save it.

Then you go to Renew TCU

Mine has been renewed. So just follow IM608 prompt to renew.

 

What we need to do next is remove the other transmission control unit from car,  read the original information and write that original information into this donor one and put it back in the car. 

this is the original one, we attached the wires the same way
first i should read data on this one and then just go to renew it, then program it and call it a day.

since this is the original transmission it has never been renewed
this has been programmed and you see it is initialized and TP cleared
We save transmission information that’s the most important part

we are going to Renew TCU.

Network connection is required to obtain erase password. Renew TCU success. Save data again.

so I am gonna connect back again the new one and write information on that

Since it has been renewed, all i have to do is Load TCU data

Load the right data, press OK

Then Write TCU data

load again correct TCU with the correct number in it again

Succeed in writing. We have done Mercedes TCU Transmission Control Unit swap, renew, and programming with Autel IM608.

Can I Use VVDI BE Key with Autel IM608?

 Question: Can I program VVDI BE Key XNBZ01 with Autel im608 Pro?

Read the success stories below:

1. It can be programmed without problems with Autel im608, I did with this one on E240. But you can’t change frequency via IM608.  IM608 does not have the capability to change Mercedes key frequency like the vvdi mb.

If you remove the capacitor where it says FRE it will change the frequency, the yellow label on the key wrapper tells you about the frequency.

Program 2008 Volvo XC70 All Keys Lost with Autel IM608

 This is a 2008 Volvo XC70, the client lost all of the keys for the vehicle and we have to program a new semi-smart key to this vehicle with Autel MaxiIM IM608 and XP400 pro.

In order to do so, we need to remove the CEM module or central electrical module which is located behind the glow component.

it’s behind the glove compartment right over there where you see the m plugs it goes right against the wall firewall and you need to remove the glow compartment.

Now go to immobilizer section with im608, select Volvo- Manual Selection- XC70 – 2008 to 2010- Semi smart key- confirm vehicle information

i’m gonna get a control unit- Read CEM security data

 

We basically have to first read the cem module data okay and then you’re gonna be gonna have to use xp 400 it’s not a very simple programming it might be a little bit confusing for some other people but it’s not hard all you have to do is follow the diagrams follow the instructions and you should be good to go.

so it’s showing you right now where the CEM module is located and you need to determine what type of sound module you have

in this case this is mine the type two

there are some other types to check see if yours looks like this one or the other one

I did do my connections on a circuit board according to the wiring diagram.

I did do the connections to the xp400 pro right over here and connected it to my m608

IM608 says decryption succeeded, not need to read M30882FJ Flash data. so which is easier for us we don’t have to do a whole bunch of the programming, reading, and writing stuff to the module

then we’re gonna continue through the obd

We’re back at the car, get the obd plugged in IM608

Select all semi-smart keys lost

press the start button

once okay whatever you guys don’t have the key right here and okay from the dealer okay i

I’m programmed so this is what it says right now same security data are required for performing this function

they can be obtained via data loading or obd reading as much as i know guys to do obd reading on this thing it it takes a very long time as much as i remember at least for the last time so that’s why we had to remove it and read it on the bench much quicker

It says on you select yes to upload data

Select yes to use data loading

Then select No, not to load the data flash. You know the flash data which no we don’t need to load it.

if you want to continue perform function there must be one key yes the original key

if clear successfully need to be learned again we don’t have to do that because we have only one key all the keys are lost

Autel IM608 or AD Smart Pro

 Smart Pro Key Programmer or Autel MaxiIM IM608 you guys can tell what is better I want to get one of them?

2019 Chevy sonic Smart Pro only can get the pin number could not program smart key or get into the software, IM608 got it done in 12 minutes.
I am aware of at least 20 cases of locksmiths bricking UK models with smart pro.

 

6.  I like both but im608 is better in my opinion

Smart Pro (2020 and 2021 cars )…SP is a state of art; im608 good scanner.

7.Im608 gets jobs done token free wide range of cars with easy if no how to use it.

8. For high volume, smart pro is faster (no wait for connecting to vci, and profiles go directly to programming without scanning first) but im608 smokes it on euro

 

9. SmartPro is great at a lot of different vehicles, and doesn’t need an internet connection. It’s a very good tool, but not great at fault code deleting etc.
IM608 is an awesome all-rounder, which constantly surprises me at what it can do. Not super useful in underground carparks with no internet reception though, but with the Programmer and Toyota Prox dongle, G-Box, you can do tonnes of cars

Solution:

Delete brands you don’t use to make space.
