How to Fix Autel IM608 II Device Locked Error Code 106?

 Problem:

bmw 2016. I tried to read EDC17CP45 engine ecu isn with Autel IM608 II, but failed. Now the device is locked and said error code 106. How to solve it?

    

Possible reason:

The number of server calculations has exceeded the limit.

Autel bench reading ISN needs a server calculation that’s special. after 30 times it’s shuts you down. up to 30 calculations per day.

Same as some other devices, i.e Yanhua ACDP, it will calculate ISN from DME up to 6 times per day.

 

 

Solution:

Send log data in IM608 II. Also provide serial number to your dealer to manually check if it is an operation error or improper operation (unintentional).

If yes Autel technician will help unlock the device.

How to Add 2023 Toyota Prius Proximity by Autel IM508?

 It is a 2023 Prius. This is another one of those 30-pin cars. It is pretty easy to get it connected. Here we will show how to add a spare proximity to 2023 Prius using Autel IM508/IM608 and OBDSTAR 30 pin cable free pin code.

 

Let’s get down to it.

All those white wires it’s that top plug on this certification ECU pretty easily grabbed by just popping that lower dash panel reaching up in there unplugging it.

Go to IMMO->Manual Selection->USA->Prius->2022->Smart Key->Control Unit->Keyless system (CAN)->Read number of keys

Backup IMMO Data
The function requires network connection.
Turn on emergency indicators.

Backup immo data success and save data.

 

Select Add smart key
Verify PIN then add learn key

Enter VIN code and confirm

IM508 will ask whether you have backup immo data, press Yes and load immo data

Put original key close to the Start/Stop button

Put a new key close to the Start/Stop button

Key learning completed.

Program 2023 Toyota Sienna Proximity with Autel IM508

 This is a 2023 Toyota Sienna with 8A-BA proximity. We are going to doing add key with Autel IM508 bypass pin code.

This is like an alternative to that 30 pin cable.

It is just a harness that from an old GPC unit T hardness.

I’m extending the OBD down here. What I’m also doing is I’m taking my can high and can low from here rerouting it up here and tapping into can high and can low on this plug behind the driver’s Dash now.

Because my OBDSTAR 30pin cable does not plug in so one of the thing that we got to do is try and figure out where all these things are obviously the bz4x behind the glove could be behind the glove on this.

maybe the style has changed you know so it doesn’t exist.

I just saw somebody on Facebook say that the Tundras on the driver’s side not the behind the glove box so we’re just going to kind of go through this.

This end of the plug was plugged into my scan tool the cannon the high and can low coming from this ends gets cut not connected to this end anymore.

rerouted over here and into my green and white pin one and pin two one’s low two’s high and then I was just plugging this into OBD just so the tool saw power and ground can G-Box whatever.  now this 30 pin is very very similar to the OBD star 30 pin except for there’s these little tabs on the side here that are different and it won’t allow that plug to plug in.

If you don’t have toyota 30 pin cable or DIY cable, just connect gbox follow the wiring diagram in IM508.

 

The exact same way back up Immo data.

Read and decode VIN.

Go to Control Unit->Keyless System (CAN)->Backup IMMO Data

Read and save immo data

Then add smart key

PIN verification: get pin from eeprom data

Learn key successfully.

How to Add 2023 Toyota BZ4X Proximity with Autel IM508?

 The OBDSTAR 30 pin cable allows us to make Toyota 4A and 8A-BA proximity without pin code. So we don’t need to pay for the pin code from 3d party. It is not only compatible with OBDSTAR tools, but also Autel MaxiIM IM508/IM608 series.

 

For example:

This is a 2023 BZ4X electric model with 8A-BA proximity and new TMLF19 Toyota smart box. Here shows how to add a spare key using IM508+ OBDSTAR 30 pin cable.

Left: factory key, right: New key

Autel has some instructions in the tool basically use the G-box and tap into CAN high and CAN Low in plug.

There are also a couple of ways to do without 30 pin cable (Gbox solution/other solution 1).

But 30 pin cable make it much easier.

Pops off this panel on the little side.
There is really only one 10 millimeter screw holding that panel.
We are going to use little 30 pin cable.
Pop airbag out. airbag drops out 30 pin plug.
Under the layout that is the 30 pin plug.
Connect 30 pin cable to 30pin plug and the other end from the car.
That’s all this thing is doing.

After connect 30 pin cable, go to im508 IMMo function, auto detect, it reads VIN and picked it up as a 2023 BZ4X.

Select Control Unit->Keyless System (CAN)

Select Backup IMMO Data

The function is used to back up eeprom data of the smart box which can be used to perform IMMO related functions without PIN.

Generally speaking we gotta we should be shutting the ignition off while we’re reading that data

Read and then save IMMO data

Select Add key function

1. PIN verification
2. Key learning

Upload immo data just read to read PIN

If failed to read PIN, try several times until succeed

Then add smart key

Add smart key successfully, test the new key.

Take the battery out of remote make sure the emergency start works as well.

That’s it 2023 year model, 2024 is no different and Autel im508 can handle the 24 no problem.
